The heart of the Tero is its Turbo Full Power 2.0E motor and 530 Wh battery, integrated into the aluminum frame. This system senses the force you apply to the pedals and amplifies your effort up to four times, making short work of steep climbs and allowing you to carry adventure gear, groceries, kids, and more without breaking a sweat. The motor provides smooth, quiet, and seamless amplification for a quiet ride on any terrain. Comfort and confidence are optimized through body position and handling designed to deliver everything the rider needs. Larger 29-inch tires offer more traction for turning and stopping on any terrain, while hydraulic disc brakes reign in your speed with confidence and control. The Specialized app and MasterMind system allow you to tailor the Tero's power output levels to your desired preference, with all three standard power modes almost infinitely adjustable to suit your power and range needs. The MicroTune function can adjust power output levels in 10% increments to tune the range to your needs. Security features include anti-theft functionality that lets you disable the motor with a press of a button so nobody can turn the motor back on without your personalized pin. The battery can be locked in the bike or taken with you for additional protection. The Turbo System Lock uses the Specialized app to disable the bike's motor and activate a motion sensor alarm. With a ride-anywhere range, the Tero can go up to 68 miles (110 km) or 5 hours on a single charge in eco mode. The bike includes fender, rack, and kickstand mounts, is rated to pull a thru-axle trailer, and is child seat compatible.
